Climate threats and climate justice: Action and adaptation for sustainable development

On January 24, Overseas Coverage at Brookings will host former U.N. Secretary-Basic Ban Ki-moon and former Irish President Mary Robinson for an Alan and Jane Batkin Worldwide Leaders Discussion board addressing the local weather disaster and its implications. Of their respective worldwide management roles, Ban and Robinson have been outstanding advocates of bringing local weather change to the highest of the worldwide agenda, selling sustainable growth and highlighting how environmental degradation has disproportionately affected folks in growing nations, particularly ladies.

Brookings Vice President and Director of Overseas Coverage Bruce Jones will present introductory remarks. Following remarks by Ban and Robinson, Brookings Senior Fellow and the SK-Korea Basis Chair in Korea Research Jung H. Pak will be part of them on stage for a dialog on local weather change, human rights, adaptation measures, and international management within the face of a local weather emergency.
