'Intoxicated' US marines arrested in Japan after attacking police cars – reports

4 US marines have been detained in Japan’s Okinawa Prefecture, after three American servicemen attacked two police autos, in line with native media stories.

Police in Onna had been trying to find a US marine wished in reference to a house invasion when two of their autos sustained injury from objects hurled by three US servicemen, the Okinawa Occasions reported.

Japan’s Kyodo information company mentioned that the three people had been intoxicated. All 4 US marines had been arrested and brought into custody.

The Pentagon has not but commented on the incident. Round half of the 54,000 US navy personnel in Japan are stationed in Okinawa. A string of crimes dedicated by US servicemen on the island have made their presence deeply unpopular amongst locals. In February, residents voted overwhelmingly to maneuver a US navy base off the island, however the non-binding referendum was ignored.
